Find Out Why You’re Losing Sales Before You Buy More Leads
More leads are not always the answer
When sales targets are missed, the usual response is to ask marketing for more leads. More traffic, more campaigns and more enquiries can feel like the obvious solution.
But if qualified opportunities are already being lost because of slow follow-up, unclear proposals or weak trust, adding more leads only increases the number of opportunities moving through the same broken process.
The first question should be simple: are you losing sales because you need more demand, or because your current demand is not converting as well as it should?
Your pipeline already contains clues
Your CRM can show where deals stall, how long they remain open, which sources produce opportunities and how many are marked as lost. That is useful evidence, but it does not always explain the decision behind the outcome.
A lost reason such as “price”, “no budget” or “went cold” may be an assumption rather than a direct answer from the buyer. Treating those labels as facts can send the business towards discounts or more advertising when the real issue is elsewhere.
Ask the people who did not buy
A short, well-timed question after an opportunity is closed can reveal what the CRM cannot. Ask what stopped the prospect from proceeding, what influenced them if they chose another supplier, and what could have made the decision easier.
When those answers are collected consistently, recurring problems become visible. You may find that prospects wanted faster responses, clearer comparisons, stronger proof or better follow-up rather than a lower price.

Fix the leak before increasing the spend
AskMarshal helps marketing and sales teams combine pipeline activity with direct buyer feedback. That makes it easier to decide whether the next priority is lead quality, sales execution, messaging, proposals or customer confidence.
More leads may still be the right answer. But it is a much stronger decision when you know the existing pipeline is being handled well and understand why the opportunities that do not convert are being lost.
